As another exciting week in Emmerdale gets underway, many fans have been left wondering what the week long flash forward episode arc could hold for their beloved characters.
Ahead of the nail biting week which is due to begin tonight, Monday 9 May, the soap released a dramatic teaser trailer to give viewers at home a glimpse of what was in store.
Sharing the trailer on Twitter last week, the soap released a chilling look at what fans can expect along with the ominous caption: “Next week: The future is not kind to some of our villagers…”
The short trailer opens with drone footage of the village before it then takes on a gray hue as sinister music begins to play in the background, with the camera panning onto the graveyard.

The clip then sees a wooded area as a mystery person holds a shotgun before bullets are heard firing out with the scene then cutting to someone struggling to get out of what appears to be a muddy grave.
The teaser then cuts to a prison scene as a mystery villager is put into a cell as a guard slams the door shut and they start banging desperately on the door to be freed.
The trailer then culminates in a horrific car crash scene, which fans fear could be Cain Dingle and that he could die .
But what else can fans expect from the soap this week, and what questions are still left to be answered?
How will Cain and Al’s feud end?
In recent weeks, mechanic Cain Dingle and devious entrepreneur Al Chapman have been at loggerheads, with the pair doing their best to try and outwit the other.
As part of flash forward week, Cain will return Al’s car, leaving the businessman irritated. Yet he later discovers a cable tie has been used to secure the drive shaft, a clear act of sabotage that he can only attribute to the disgruntled Dingle.
In tense scenes, Al tells Cain to drive the car himself in order to prove its safe, with the mechanic agreeing immediately. Yet moments later, Cain is seen speeding down the village’s main street, aiming straight for the dodgy businessman.
Unwilling to back down, the two play a dangerous game of chicken, with Al standing firmly on the unmoved road. Cain will screech to a halt just in time, but does this have something to do with the car crash we’ve seen teased? Or could someone else be driving the car that puts Al or Cain in the firing line – or maybe even the frame?
What does Noah have planned for Chloe?
Many fans have been left horrified in recent weeks, as Noah Dingle continued to behave erratically and obsessively towards village newcomer Chloe. Having framed love rival Jacob Gallagher for his own sneaky subterfuge, Noah is hoping to move back into ex girlfriend Chloe’s good graces.
However, Chloe has continued to make it clear she isn’t attracted to Noah and has instead set her sights on Nate Robinson. Oblivious to Noah’s intentions, Chloe continues to spend time with the teen believing they are just friends, but when she finds her lost keys, Chloe begins to realise what Noah’s up to.
Rumbling his stalking, Chloe confronts the teen, but he responds by terrifyingly trapping her inside the house, just as his mother Charity Dingle arrives home. What will Charity do?
Will Jamie return to kidnap his son?
Having recently discovered that her son’s father, Jamie Tate isn’t actually dead, Gabby Thomas has been on the edge for weeks, fearing that he might one day return to snatch his son.
So when Dawn and Billy Fletcher reveal that they have spotted a hooded figure on the CCTV, Gabby’s fears intensify, leading the young mum to be utterly convinced that Jamie will return to snatch baby Thomas.
Still anxious, Gabby will later check the CCTV again having found a torch abounded outside, but it’s then that she spots the hooded figure lurking nearby, and she later discovers that the same figure has left a gift for her son.
Knowing it has to be from Jamie, Gabby’s terrified, but things are only set to get worse as the mystery person breaks into the gun cupboard at Home Farm, taking the shotgun.
Is it Jamie, and could Gabby now be in serious danger?
What is Faith’s life changing secret?
After finding herself in the bad books with Chastity and Cain for getting drunk and sleeping with Cain’s workmate Dan Spencer, Faith’s week is already off to a rocky start, with things only set to get worse.
In cryptic scenes, fans will see Faith rushing to get to an unknown location quickly, but when the bus doesn’t turn arrive, she will then pick a fight with nearby teen Amelia Spencer, leading to a huge public spectacle and argument.
Letting her frustrations boil over the troubled Dingle will then take one of Amelia’s dumbbell weights, and throw it though the window of Dan’s cottage home, just as daughter-in-law Moira Dingle walks onto the scene to witness such erratic behaviour.
What has got into Faith? And can she make things right?
Who will die?
This is the question that has kept most fans on tenterhooks all week, with several fan favorites now in the firing line.
With a smoking car; a gunshot, a fresh new grave and a prison cell all to factor in, who could we be waving goodbye to as the flash forward week reaches its dramatic conclusion?
The most logical solution is one of the key characters in this week’s exciting storylines, with many fans believing it will be Cain or Al to meet the reaper if their dangerous car game escalates.
With Chas already revealed to be a passenger in the vehicle at some point, could she be the potential victim?
Another possible victim could be Al’s girlfriend, Kerry Wyatt, or perhaps even more cruelly, Belle Dingle, who has only just gone into business with Al despite objections from her family. Could she borrow his car on a way to a meeting and be unwittingly killed by her brother?

Or will Gabby the next in line to meet her maker, if the gunman is revealed to be Jamie? Has he come to kill the mother of his son to make sure she can’t deprive him of his child? Or has he returned to seek revenge on his mother Kim for a lifetime of lies and manipulation?
Or could it even be Noah, the forgotten Tate, driven mad by Chloe’s rejection. Might he turn the weapon on Chloe for rejecting him? Or could he be the one getting shot, if his behavior is seen to be completely out of control?
With so many possibilities, fans will be left guessing until the very last moment – but they’ll have to tune in to find out the answers.
